Clown Army of Resistance - Potluck Reminder
And another idea about cutting food costs. Still throwing in surveys - we need to hear from you!
Daily Potluck Reminder
Food waste is a real shame in this country. Chances are you buy food that you never get around to eating in time. Fresh food like vegetables and fruits are the worst to have to throw away, aren’t they? Food waste is a great place to start looking to save costs on hosting potlucks.
Idea:
Throw those vegetable scraps and the veggies which are about to go bad into a container labeled “soup starter”. I will add leftovers or the juice from cans of beans or tuna. Then when it’s time to kick off a big pot of soup for the next potluck, I add water, dump in some frozen stuff, and turn on the heat to get the stock going while I start rummaging through the fridge for fresher veggies to throw in. This is a modern variation on the perpetual stew taking advantage of freezers to keep food safe until it’s time to add it to the soup or stew.
